A VIP shopping experience at Beauty Backstage

January 30, 2017
There's little a girl like me loves more than shopping. Especially if it means shopping for makeup! Well, I and a handful of other bloggers were given some much needed retail therapy at the Beauty Backstage event held last week at Whitespace Manila where we got reacquainted with popular cosmetic brands hailing from both Europe and the US.

The event was all thanks to Bhagis International Trading Corp. who locally distribute all the above brands here in the Philippines. Shoutout to the Project Vanity team for setting up and organizing everything too!

The (literal) red carpet was rolled out for us and the whole area was buzzing with beauty aficionados checking out all the different brands.

My first stop was Deborah Milano from Italy. It's one of those brands that I see all the time whenever I'm in the beauty section of a department store but never actually tried any of their products. Now was my chance!

Since I've been into buying base products more these days, I chose their DD (Daily Dream) Foundation (Php799). What really appealed to me was that it's also an 'anti age foundation'. Since we were allowed to choose two products from the brand, I decided to pair it with their Dress Me Perfect Fluid Concealer (Php499).

Next was Jordana, a popular drugstore brand from the US. Like with Deborah Milano, I've never tried anything from the brand but have heard a lot of good things about their lipsticks and concealers.

I also overheard that their primers are really good, so I grabbed their Prime No-Pores Pore Refining Face Primer (Php699) and two of their Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Colors (Php399 each) in Sweet Marsala wine (left) and Crème Brulee (right).

Il Salone Milano is another brand that comes from Italy and I was told it's the country's most popular hair coloring product. They launched in the Philippines just last year and it was my first time hearing about them. They had a good variety of shades to choose from that included browns, reds, and even blondes.

I got two of their Intense Professional Color Cream and since I've been sticking with keeping my hair a light-medium brown, I chose the shades 6.3 Light Golden Brunette and and 6.77 Light Chocolate Brunette.

I was really excited to pick up some stuff from Germany's Essence after because their prices are always on the affordable side and they have such a diverse range of products. Plus the brand seems to keep up to date with beauty trends.

Said picks of mine include their Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Polish Remover (Php299), Mosaic Blush in the shade "The Berry Connection" (Php299), and their Touch Up To Go! One-For-All Palette (Php499). I actually grabbed the last one!

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to Catrice Cosmetics, also founded in Germany, but I do have a few of their nail polishes and they're some of the best I've ever used so I was eager to see if I'd like their makeup too.

I snagged a couple more base products that includes their Nude Illusion foundation and All Round Concealer Palette (Php379). I also got their Made to Stay Highlighter Pen (Php399).

One of my last stops was the Flormar booth. The brand is from Turkey and has been steadily popular here for more than a couple of years. You can see how they're already starting to run out of products and the event was only halfway over!

I chose their best-selling Illuminating Primer Make-Up Base (Php699), Perfect Coverage Foundation (Php749), and one of their Deluxe Cashmere Lipsticks (Php399) in the shade "DC30 Austere Brown".

Finally, it was time for me to pick out my fragrances. We got to choose two Joe of London perfumes and any one fragrance from Entity.

From Joe of London, I got White Iris and Orangy. Both were recommended to me and I really love White Iris! From Entity, I chose the Luxe Star perfume in the scent "Love Bells". It's a really light and girly type of fragrance.

Thank you to Bhagis International for bringing in all these great brands as well as allowing us a few hours of feeling like VIPs on a shopping spree!

What product/s do you guys want me to review first? Have you tried and like any of the ones I picked out? Let me know in the comments!
